I used to swear by Camtasia however, after my current experiences with their tech support, and the software, I've been turned off absolutely big time. And, then expect people to pay a maintenance fee for software that doesn't open in order to receive increased support to resolve the issue of the dodgy software they released in the first place. There is no way they should be releasing software for sale with a known bug/issue in the software. Not as if they don't charge an arm and a leg for the software in the first place. As you state the cost of resolving their software issues should be included in the sale price. If they sell a software, and it doesn't work when installed, then it is their problem to resolve the issue, not mine. And, quite frankly, I'm totally unimpressed. To be honest, I've never in all my years of using Camtasia had to access their support section before. A tad bit on the rich side is my erstwhile opinion. How dare they sell a dodgy version and then expect people to pay them a so called maintenance fee when the software can't even be opened in the first instance. Now that really get me in the craw so to speak. Not to mention support said it's a known issue and they're still selling a dodgy product version. What really gets me is that I have been unable to open the 2022 software from the get go but support wants me to pay a maintenance fee in order to do a Zoom mtg to see if there is an issue with my computer - which I totally refuse to do. Me thinks, 2022 potentially is built for Windows 11 and I have Windows 10 hence, it is somehow screwing with the software so to speak. I've downloaded all 3 versions of 2022 - after deleting previous version and still no go. I've been able to successfully install and open the 2021 version (which is 2019 according to the software icon on my desktop) - Nov 4 version and use my 2022 key. Tech support appear to be now non-communicative re what their thoughts are as to resolve this issue. I'm scratching my head as to what to do next. I have a 32 GB RAM computer so RAM should definitely not be an issue.Īnyone else having trouble opening Camtasia 2022.
